Norgesskolen Winter 2023 - Learning Norwegian in the snow!

Norgesskolen Winter: February 21st-27th 2023

This page contains information regarding Norgesskolen Winter. Additional information can be found on the main pages regarding Norgesskolen Summer.

2023 marks the 20 year anniversary of Norgesskolen! To commemorate this, we are organizing a one week long winter school.

Norway in winter is wonderful, it might even be the best season to visit Norway. Norgesskolen Winter provides fantastic surroundings to learn more of the Norwegian language and about the Norwegian winter culture. Winter activities are important for Norwegians, and people carrying skis on trams and metros is a common sighting - even in the capital city, Oslo.

The Norwegian winter

Norwegian winters are active and fun! Here you can enjoy a real winter, with snow and ice all throughout the winter months. Winter days are known to be short. In the Oslo area you can expect between six and eight hours of daylight during the winter months. The average temperature in Norway during winter is -6.8 degrees Celsius, but local conditions may vary a lot. Around Oslo, snowfall is common and the average winter temperatures are just below freezing.

Norgesskolen Winter is best suited for youth in the age group 14-19.

  • Students living outside of Norway – from all over the world.

  • Students with previous knowledge of Norwegian, as well as beginners.
